"In the passage from one scale to another —from the intimacy of a provincial city to the vastness of the capital— a fissure opens where experience needs to be rewritten. Agustina Nattero’s work is situated at that threshold: between the familiar and the uncertain, between affective memory and the construction of a new everyday life.

Raised in Santo Tomé, Santa Fe, and based in Buenos Aires for the past few years, she undergoes a displacement that is not only geographical, but also perceptual. At first, the city appears as an alien, ungraspable territory that demands tools to be read. In this context, an everyday application such as Google Maps becomes a compass, a guide and, ultimately, a poetic device.

It is in her daily transit —between San Telmo (her workplace) and Villa Devoto (her home)— that her practice emerges: long, repeated, almost ritual walks that become writing. She walks with others; the route becomes a shared experience. With minimal resources but a strong symbolic charge, the displacement is transformed into a performative action: the body traces a route while the word is inscribed as a trace and as an attempt at orientation.

Each walk gives rise to a word. They are not arbitrary: they condense concerns, questions, desires and tensions. There is something of a claim in them, but also of a declaration; a way of inhabiting the city from subjectivity and appropriating its scale through language.

At the origin of this gesture resonates an intimate scene: the childhood she shared with her grandmother in Santo Tomé, where writing and drawing coexisted as nighttime practices. That affective memory reappears today, re-signified: the word no longer merely evokes, it also orients, accompanies and constructs the present."
